Chris Torres, PA-C
Deputy Medical Officer, G-9
Chris Torres served 20 years in the U.S. Army, starting his career as a Combat Medic and retiring as a Physician Assistant (PA). Chris deployed three times as a combat medic, twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan, Chris served alongside the Infantry and as part of a Combat Support Hospital working in the Emergency Room during these deployments.
As a PA, Chris deployed twice more, once as a Battalion PA alongside America’s Tank Division and most recently as the Senior Medical Advisor to the 201st Corps of the Afghan National Army, in the eastern region of Afghanistan.
Upon completion of his last Afghanistan tour, Chris took on the role of Program Director of the Combat Casualty Care Course – providing “knees in the dirt medicine” training to joint service medical officers.
In addition to deploying across the globe, Chris also completed numerous military and medical courses such as Airborne, Air Assault, Military Mountain Medicine Course, Army Trauma Training Course, Operational Emergency Management Systems, Tactical Combat Medical Course, ALS, ATLS, PALS, and ABLS, to name a few.
Aligning perfectly with his retirement, Chris joined the FLMH team as a staff provider, mobilizing all over Texas and Colorado, caring for the various Fire Fighters, Law Enforcement Officers and EMS personnel under the FLMH umbrella. More recently, Chris has taken on the role of Deputy Medical Officer.
The above was only made possible due to the support of Chris’ wife, Erin Torres. First meeting during medic training, Chris and Erin have been married throughout his military career and have 4 pretty awesome kids together. During their off time, Chris and his family prefer off-grid camping/exploration and short-term mission work to keep them busy.
