John Sherwood

John worked for the City of Grapevine Texas Fire Department where he rose through the ranks to Assistant Fire Chief of Support, Planning, and Administration. John retired after 26 years of service joining Frontline Mobile Health in April 2023. A professional command-level fire officer with over 16-years in leadership positions and proven experience in firefighting and Emergency Medical Services, he has been acknowledged for his leadership and oversight of Administrative Operations, team building, fiscal accountability, and creating new operational methods to improve service delivery. He has a passion for developing accountable, resilient, solution driven, strategic thinking leaders.

Throughout his career, John enjoyed ongoing promotion and increasing responsibilities, while at the same time enhancing his career credentials by undertaking further formal advanced education and completing comprehensive professional development and training. His career is complimented with a Master of Science – Fire and Emergency Management Administration, a Bachelor of Science – Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology, a Bachelor of Science – Marketing, and membership in the Texas Fire Chief Association, and the International Association of Fire Chiefs.

John brings to Frontline a wealth of knowledge on fire department and municipal government operations. He understands the public safety administrative environment and the demands placed upon Command Staff. In his previous role, he oversaw the health and wellness program for the department. John understands the importance of maintaining the highest level of service, while getting personnel scheduled, through their physical, and then back into service. Away from the workplace, John enjoys daily exercise, road cycling, mountain biking, boating, hiking, traveling, and anything that includes spending time with family.
